What the study covers

The second edition of The Register's Enterprise AI Snapshot repeats last year's questions on AI readiness and AI-generated content, and adds eight more: how far AI has moved into production, how much freedom AI agents are given, how agents are governed, what limits wider use, where investment is heading and whether AI is delivering measurable business value. It draws on 2,827 IT decision makers surveyed in August and September 2026 across North America, EMEA and APAC, and is written for technology vendors and marketing leaders who need to understand how enterprise buyers are approaching AI.
